Can't buy Telegram Stars? Here's what to try

Also available in: Русский · فارسی · العربية

Stars are Telegram's own in-app currency. You buy them inside Telegram and spend them on things like our Personal plan. If the Stars purchase sheet does not complete — it closes, it stays pending, or the payment simply does not go through — here are the official ways to get Stars.

Get Stars inside Telegram

Telegram sells Stars itself. You can buy Stars inside the Telegram apps for iOS and Android as an in-app purchase, and @PremiumBot is Telegram's official route on the direct version of Telegram for Android and in the Web and Desktop apps.

For an in-app purchase the app store processes the payment. If something is wrong with the charge itself, that question goes to the store you bought through; the Stars land in your Telegram balance.

To use the second route, open @PremiumBot, Telegram's own bot, and buy or top up Stars for your account there.

Top up with Fragment

Fragment is Telegram's official platform, and fragment.com/stars is its Stars page. There you can top up a Stars balance with TON or USDT — for yourself or for other people. Because Fragment is a website, you can also use it from a browser.

  1. Open fragment.com/stars and connect a TON wallet, or sign in with Telegram.
  2. Choose the amount you want and pay with TON or USDT.
  3. Enter the Telegram account that should receive the Stars, and confirm.

Fragment is built around crypto, so it is the route to use when you would rather pay in TON or USDT, or when you are topping up a balance for someone else.

Ask a friend

Telegram gifts are bought with Stars, so a gift from a friend is one of the ways to get them: a friend sends you a Telegram gift that was bought with Stars, and Telegram lets you convert a gift to Stars. Fragment can also top up someone else's Stars balance directly.

If a friend is topping up for you, give them your Telegram username and the amount you need. Once the Stars are in your account, come back to the offer you were trying to complete and tap it again.

Open your assistant — and tap the offer again once the Stars are in your account.

What our assistant does

Agent One does not sell Stars itself: you buy them through Telegram's own routes, and the charge is handled by whichever store or platform processed the payment. When a Stars purchase is left unfinished, our assistant shows this short help line:

Can't buy Stars? 💡 You can also get them on Telegram's official Fragment (fragment.com) with TON/USDT, or ask a friend to send you Stars as a gift. Then come back and tap the offer again.

Our support bot answers the same question with the same line: send it the question and you get the identical text. The line is one line for every account — it names no country and no account detail.

The Fragment platform itself lives at fragment.com.

If Stars still don't work for you

Telegram's own Stars terms say that purchases may be subject to extra restrictions in some jurisdictions, and that this is outside Telegram's control. That is also why this page gives no per-country advice: the terms are Telegram's to apply, and they can change.

Two options do not depend on Stars at all:

  • Card payment is still available on Discord and on the website: Personal is $10/month by card.
  • Free stays free. On Telegram you get up to 20 messages a day, one group, and no card is required.

If a payment looks wrong, Telegram's own support cannot resolve a purchase made in a bot. Send /paysupport in the bot, and the payment side is handled from there.

The Short Version

In Telegram, Personal is ⭐ 500 Stars for 30 days, and it renews as a subscription you cancel in Telegram. You keep the assistant you already have: an upgrade never creates a second one. For the rest of the plan — what changes, and how to cancel — read Pay with Telegram Stars.
