Group chats are where most of real life happens: a trip being planned, a family sorting out a schedule, a small team tracking a project. Copying answers from a separate AI app into that chat breaks the flow. Agent One is an AI assistant that joins the Telegram group itself, so every member can talk to it in the place the conversation already lives.
You add it once. It introduces itself in the group, remembers what the group talked about, and answers according to the participation mode you choose for that group. You can change the mode at any time from the group's settings.
How an AI joins a Telegram group
Adding Agent One takes under two minutes and needs no server, no setup and no code:
- Tap Add Agent One to your group.
- Pick the Telegram group you want it in, and confirm.
- Open the group settings and choose one participation mode for that group.
Prefer to look around first? Open a direct chat with Agent One and try it privately. The same assistant then works in your groups.
Three participation modes
A group does not have to live with an assistant that talks over everyone. Each Telegram group picks one of three modes, and the choice is stored per group:
- Every message Answers everything, as it happens.
- Only when @mentioned Normally responds only when directly addressed.
- Only when @mentioned, plus occasional Does the same and may also occasionally join a message nobody addressed to it — it is rate-limited and may choose not to reply.
The third mode is not a way to switch off addressed replies: the assistant still answers when you mention it, and on top of that it may chip in on its own now and then. If you want it to speak only when spoken to, pick Only when @mentioned.
What it does inside the group
- Group memory. Each group gets its own memory, separate from your direct chat and from every other group. Mention a decision today and it can still recall it next week.
- A personality per group. Each group can have its own name and personality, so the family group and the work group do not have to sound the same.
- Reminders. Ask it to remind the group about something and it sends a real message at the time you set — one-off, daily or weekly.
- Web search. It can look things up and answer with a summary in the chat.
- Images and documents. Send a photo, screenshot or PDF and ask about it.
- Voice input. Send a voice message and the assistant understands it. Voice replies are a paid feature, off by default and enabled per group on Personal — the voice you pick also sets the language it answers in, and long or technical answers stay text.
- Stickers and GIFs. Groups can use occasional contextual stickers and GIFs when an approved catalog is configured.
- Weekly group recap. Personal includes a weekly recap of the group's best moments.
How many groups can it join?
On the free plan you get one group or channel, with up to 20 assistant messages a day on Telegram or up to 12 a day on Discord. Personal raises the limits to up to 5 groups — each with its own personality and memory — and up to 250 messages a day on our standard model, for $10 per month (⭐ 500 Stars/month in Telegram). Personal starts with 7 days free.
